Golden Africa Djibouti (GAD) has received the 2026 “Recognition Award for AfCFTA Private Sector Engagement”, marking recognition of its commitment to strengthening the role of business in Africa’s economic integration.

The award plaque bears the logos of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), alongside the name of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA).

According to the company, the distinction recognises its contribution to creating economic opportunities, supporting sustainable development and promoting greater regional integration through its investments and industrial activities.

Based in Djibouti, GAD manufactures and packages edible oils for domestic and export markets. Its activities illustrate the role industrial businesses can play in developing regional supply chains and expanding trade between African economies.

The recognition comes as ECA and IGAD strengthen dialogue with businesses on the practical implementation of the AfCFTA, with a focus on removing trade barriers, improving market access and encouraging investment.

For Golden Africa Djibouti, the award highlights its continuing commitment to industrial development, employment and a more connected African market.
